Last but not least the windows are now fully transparent with a nice gradient effect (You can turn this off from the game’s options menu). They’ve been expanded to give more screen space. Jumping right into the game the veteran BoF2 player will immediately notice the vastly improved new message windows. Next you are greeted with an impressive new introduction video featuring full Japanese vocals. This prevents people from applying the patch to the wrong ROM, very nice.
Of course the result is stored in the internal battery so you don’t have to do this every time you start up the ROM. Right at the start, the game will perform a complete checksum test on itself to verify that you applied the patch to the correct ROM before it let’s you start. This translation features some of the most impressive hacking work I’ve ever seen.
